POWER GEN PROPERTIES to you the customer, and by ordering, you agree to be bound by them. No part of these terms & conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. When you place an order, it will be treated as an offer by you to purchase. Generators Direct reserve the right to accept or not accept any order at our discretion. Dispatch of your goods will signify our acceptance of your order and will constitute a legally binding contract between us the seller and you the purchaser under these terms & conditions. All Prices shown on the website include VAT at the standard rate and delivery within South Africa except for those remote areas stated in the ordering section of the contact page.
Return Policy
Return & Refund Policy
1. Return Window
Customers may request a return within 14 days of delivery of their product. Requests made after this period may not be eligible for return unless covered under warranty.
2. Eligibility for Returns
To qualify for a return, the item must:
- Be unused and in original condition
- Include all original packaging and accessories
- Not have been installed, modified, or tampered with
- Be free from oil, fuel, or other hazardous substances (where applicable)
3. How to Request a Return
To initiate a return, customers must contact our support team with their order details.
Once approved, we will provide return instructions and arrange collection where applicable.
4. Return Collection Process
- Returns are collected via our appointed courier service
- Collection is typically arranged within 2–3 working days after approval
- Customers will receive collection confirmation and reference details via email
- Please note: specific collection times cannot be guaranteed (all-day service)
5. Packaging Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that products are:
- Properly boxed and securely packaged for transport
- Safe for courier handling to prevent damage during transit
If a product was originally delivered on a pallet, it must also be returned on a pallet. Any unauthorized palletized returns may incur additional charges.
6. Safety Requirements (Important)
For safety and transport compliance:
- All oil and fuel must be completely drained before collection
- The machine should be aired for at least 24 hours in a ventilated area
- Failure to comply may result in delays or additional collection charges
7. Refunds
Once the returned item has been received and inspected:
- Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days
- Refunds will be issued via the original payment method
- Shipping or collection fees may be deducted where applicable
- If a returned item is found not to be faulty or outside warranty terms, additional charges for inspection, labour, or re-delivery may apply
8. Faulty or Warranty Returns
If a product is returned due to a reported fault:
- The item will be inspected by our technical team
- If the fault is covered under warranty, repair or replacement will be provided
- If the fault is not covered, the customer will be liable for return shipping, labour, and parts costs

Shipping & Delivery
BANK HOLIDAY DELIVERY TIMES: Our couriers do not deliver on Bank Holidays or weekends.
For items weighing under 70kg please allow 1-3 working days. Order by 2 pm for same-day dispatch (weekdays only). Exclusions apply.
For items weighing over 70kg please allow 2-5 working days. The Courier will contact you to confirm the delivery date. Exclusions apply.
Please be aware that we cannot accept responsibility for weather or courier-related delays.
If you need to be certain an item is in stock and available, or if you need a lead time, it's worth calling our sales team.
In most cases, a product on our website will give you an indication of the current stock availability, but shipping is not uniform for all products. The availability information given is a guide only and not a guarantee as there are external factors that we may not have control over.
Please be aware that in most instances, when you order items that have different delivery times the longest delivery time will apply to all of your orders. If you would like to receive items with shorter lead times sooner please call us - an additional delivery charge may be payable if you choose to split your order.
1500rpm machines or larger diesel generators, however, are typically priced on application and all depend on the destination. We will be happy to quote on any large diesel generator and discuss your needs over the phone or via email.
Please note that the processing of a payment and acknowledgement email does not constitute a legally binding contract. In the case of mispricing, changes in stock quantity, or if we believe the machine will be misused, we reserve the right to cancel the order and provide a full refund.
ACCEPTING DELIVERY: Please be aware that you MUST check the condition of your product(s) IMMEDIATELY upon delivery. If an item is delivered damaged you must notify us within 24 hours. We cannot consider claims for transit damage beyond 48 hours following delivery.
